Existential crisis

An existential crisis concerns our entire existence, life, our own illness or the death of a loved one. We become human beings through the choices we make throughout our lives. According to existentialist Sartre, we are condemned to freedom, and this freedom often leads to existential anxiety or a search for the meaning of life. What is the meaning of life and how do you overcome boredom, restlessness, despair and emptiness? Do we truly have freedom and self-determination over our own lives? It’s up to the individual to set the desired direction of their life? The perception of freedom and self-determination—or lack therefore—often leads to a focus on ideas such as responsibility and guilt.
